To me that sounds like 1 real quick and easy way to ruin a descent transceiver .
think its call " BUTCHERY" and results in a new addition to the junk-box collection....

1. Taking crystals out and reinstalling them only needs a soldering iron and some desolder braid..

2. What makes you think the crystals from a GME TX6200 will be compatible with a PTX1200?? And what are you exactly wanting to do?? The only crystals in a TX6200 would be for the PLL and reference oscillator circuits, which probably wont achieve a great deal in another set anyway...
