Today we had really heavy skip for some unknown reason here in the Lower South East Of South Australia and while this a blessing the repercussion was that this skip overloaded my 40 Channel SSB resulting in a blow out of the internal reciever mechanism or as we refer to it the circuit board  :'( thus not allowing my radi ot get any signals

But the good news is that i had my Kraco 23 Channel SSB Radio on standby when this happened so i am back on SSB but only monitoring 23 channels instead of 40 channels until my dad either repairs the radio or i find another 2nd hand SSB Radio  ;D

I was able to pick up some good skip today after setting up my newly made directional antenna although its gonna be a while before other stations are gonna hear me talking to them as the skip while being pretty good in my area didnt allow me to talk to other stations

27 MHz DX Propagation Predictions

Hi everyone its me again with my 2nd topic since joining this wonderful site... i've been hearing so much about DX Propagation and have looked at the DX Predicition maps but just out of curiosity what months are the best ones to get transmit & recieve  DX using 27 MHz SSB

When i was living at home i used to be able to do dxing on my old 23 channel SSB radio and talk to stations in NZ and Queensland on channel 16 but it seems that the strong dxing conditions happening over South East South Australia have disappeared for some reason

Can anyone tell me when the strong dxing conditions will return to where i am located as im busting to make contact with NZ and maybe some other countries using the 40 channel SSB radio i've got now
